Documents required to execute the digital power of attorney
EEPOA (Ethiopian Power of Attorney) is a mobile application for
both android and iOS devices. It is an official digital power of attorney
service by the Ethiopian Embassy. With the launch of this application, the
embassy looks forward to bring the people of Ethiopia closer, in terms of
business and other national affairs. It will allow people living in different
parts of the world to return to their roots, if they desire, allowing them to
invest in business affairs.
If you execute a power of attorney via EEPOA, you would be
expected to produce some documents before proceeding further. Completing this
process proves that you are an Ethiopian citizen before investing in a business
or any other affairs in the country. Some of the documents that are acceptable
for executing the digital POA are a passport, driver's license, Ethiopian
Origin ID (Yellow Card), Green Card, Military ID, State ID, etc.
Some might wonder why they should opt for the digital Power of
Attorney when there is an option instead of the traditional way. For one, the
security measures regarding traditional Power Of Attorney is quite low, whereas
digital POA ensures high security.
The process of acquiring the Power Of Attorney via traditional paper method
takes at least 30 days; with the digital application, it needs an average of 15
minutes. With the process getting longer the traditional way, the cost of
sending all the documents to an agent is higher. The digital procedure ensures that an
Ethiopian agent receives the documents.
